Co-Founder & CEO
Andre Edelbrock founded Ethoca in 2005 and has served as its Chief Executive Officer since inception. Andre is a leader in online payment systems, risk and fraud, and product management. Before founding Ethoca, for many years he headed the department responsible for international e-cash services and operations at CryptoLogic, a global leader in online gaming. Prior to that Andre also spent two years with Procuron, an Internet B2B marketplace start-up in Canada founded by Bell Canada, CIBC, Scotiabank and Desjardins, where he played a key role in marketplace strategy, development and sales. Earlier in his career, he served as a senior management consultant at the Toronto offices of Deloitte Consulting and as an analyst at IBM. He currently serves on various boards and is an active early-stage investor in various businesses in the U.S., Canada and U.K. Andre serves on the board of FPWR Canada. He holds an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
As one of the founders of Ethoca and Executive Vice President of Issuer Relations, Trevor is responsible for the engagement and ongoing success of Card Issuer participation on the Ethoca platform. Trevor has served multiple roles within Ethoca including CTO where he led the build-out of the Ethoca platform and supporting operations while managing the engineering, operations and security functions within the organization. Concurrently, he also developed Ethoca’s Channel Partner program and worked with PSPs, Gateways and ISOs to rapidly expand the reach of the collaborative network and stop more fraud and chargebacks. Trevor is now fully engaged on expanding Card Issuer participation and working closely with both merchants and issuers to define and deliver more collaborative solutions that yield mutual benefit. Prior to starting Ethoca, Trevor spent his time working with major telecommunications carriers, financial institutions and online gambling while with Deloitte Consulting, IBM and CryptoLogic.
Trained as a lawyer, engineer and businessman, Darryl Green spent six years working at Tucows Inc., a publicly listed Internet services company (AMEX: TCX, TSX: TC). Green was a key member of a team that found and integrated new lines of business, including the wholesale distribution of domain registrations, security certificates, outsourced email services, payment services, and billing services. Green personally managed the evaluation and addition of these lines of business by means of organic development, strategic partnership and corporate acquisition. Prior to this, Green worked at the law firm Davies Ward and Beck, and has worked as an engineer for Nortel, General Motors, Solvay Automotive and Dow Chemical. He has a Bachelor of Engineering Science and LL.B and MBA degrees from the University of Western Ontario.
Simonne LeBlanc, SVP, Global Head of Human Resources, is responsible for establishing Ethoca as a performance-driven culture focused on attracting and developing top industry talent. A commercially minded, seasoned and truly global HR leader, Simonne is focused on building and maintaining Ethoca’s leadership position as a career destination of choice. Over the last 15 years, Simonne has led the Human Resources function for a wide range of global organizations with business operations in multiple regions, including North America, EMEA and Asia-Pacific. Prior to Ethoca, she was the Head of HR (EVP) for LexisNexis International while based in London, UK. In this role, she led a global HR team comprised of 60 professionals responsible for more than 3,500 employees across the UK, Ireland, France, Italy, Austria, Benelux, Russia, South Africa, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Prior to LexisNexis, Simonne held a variety of increasingly senior and global HR leadership roles at Thomson Financial and Thomson Reuters, where she was based in locations as diverse as London, Hong Kong and New York City. Simonne is an active supporter of several charitable organizations, including The United Way and Habitat for Humanity. During a three-month sabbatical in 2010, she supported the Eugemot Orphanage in Ghana as a Volunteer Caregiver and continues to be an active supporter of the orphanage.
Nick Vaney, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, is responsible for providing leadership and oversight of corporate development, finance, customer service, human resources and operational improvements at Ethoca. Nick was previously Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Empathica Inc., a SaaS-based software company focused on customer experience management for global corporate brands. He played a key role in the growth of Empathica, with the successful sale of the company and monetization for its shareholders in 2013. Nick’s prior experience includes the role of Vice President, Operations and Chief Strategy Officer, and the role of Chief Financial Officer, at Nightingale Informatix Corporation, a public SaaS-based software company in the electronic medical record (EMR) industry. Prior to that, Nick was at VRG Capital, the private equity division of The Vimy Ridge Group Ltd., where he was involved in the due diligence, investment and review of several private and public companies. In addition, Nick spent several years at Accenture Ltd., where he left as an executive within their Strategy and Business Architecture practice. Mr. Vaney holds MBA and HBA degrees for the Ivey School of Business, a BA in Economics from the University of Western Ontario, and is a designated CPA, CMA.
Keith Briscoe, Chief Marketing Officer, leads Ethoca’s global marketing strategy, programs and day-to-day execution, including the launch of Ethoca’s growing range of collaboration-based fraud mitigation and transaction acceptance solutions. His responsibilities include public relations, integrated campaigns, competitive analysis, experiential marketing, product marketing and communications. Keith has more than 15 years of experience in the payments and transaction processing industry, including marketing leadership positions at numerous payment software/processing providers including Oasis Technology, eFunds Corporation and FIS. He also launched and successfully ran his own marketing services firm, Brisk Marketing, from 2009-2013. Keith holds a Master of Arts degree in English and Communications from the University of Toronto.
Julie Fergerson, Senior Vice President of Industry Solutions at Ethoca, is one of the industry’s foremost experts on Internet payments fraud. Fergerson has over 20 years of experience in the online payments and fraud management industry and holds patents for secure transaction order management processing and preventing fraudulent electronic transactions. She joined Ethoca in 2010 to help drive adoption of its collaborative ecommerce fraud prevention platform. Before joining Ethoca, Fergerson was Vice President of Emerging Technologies at Debix and Co-Founder and Vice President of Emerging Technologies at ClearCommerce. She is a co-founder of the Merchant Risk Council (MRC) and an ITRC board member, where she created and lead the Victim Assistance Program, a collaborative effort between the National Cyber Forensics Training Alliance (NCTFA), the ITRC and Debix to provide notification and assistance to consumers whose identities have been compromised and found on crime servers by law enforcement.
As the Chief Technology Officer at Ethoca, Kevin Viggers brings years of technology and product development experience. Prior to joining Ethoca, he was a Director at Oracle within the CRM On Demand organization providing leadership for multiple global product development and quality assurance teams responsible for delivering customer value on a multi-tenant SaaS platform. Kevin has spent the majority of his career in the CRM space, working previously at Siebel Systems leading development teams spanning various industries including investment and retail banking, hospitality, and pharmaceutical sales and at Janna Systems prior to that. He started his career at Nortel Networks as a software engineer. Kevin is an alumnus of the University of Waterloo holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Design Engineering.
As the SVP for Issuer Relations, Steve is responsible for expanding Ethoca’s financial institution customer base while cultivating our collaboration network by optimizing issuer clients contributions. Over a 20 year career in operations, technology and shared services at a top 3 US issuer, Steve was a champion of innovation to maximize fraud prevention, dispute recoveries and cost reduction. He led groups for Fraud, Disputes and Collections that covered internal case management system design, large technology deployments, workforce management & capacity planning, self-service including SMS & email outreach, data infrastructure and off-shoring & near-shoring efforts. His experience in assessing and implementing a wide range of loss mitigation, cost efficiencies and process solutions is a key objective for his role in helping Ethoca clients.
Jason Howard, Executive Vice President of Sales, leads Ethoca’s global merchant sales strategy. His responsibilities at Ethoca include revenue attainment, direct sales, channel sales, and account management for Ethoca’s broad and diverse merchant community. Jason joined Ethoca in 2013 with over 15 years of Sales and Sales leadership experience with high-growth organizations from the fraud and payments industry. Prior to joining Ethoca Jason lead Sales for US healthcare payments start-up Tango-Health, and data breach remediation company AllClearID. Additionally, Jason spent 6 years at JPMorganChase where he had responsibility for expanding its commercial credit card business. Jason is also a proud Longhorn from the University of Texas in Austin.
